About Calgary

Calgary is situated in the North West of the Isle of Mull and is a small community of houses just up from Calgary Bay. The nearest village, Dervaig is 4½ miles away and the Island's capital, Tobermory is 12 miles away.

The silver sands at Calgary are considered to be one of Mull's finest beaches, with a shallow sloping bay, very safe for bathing. Sea angling off the rocks can provide you with Mackerel, Rock Cod or perhaps Sea Trout! Windsurfing and sailing conditions are often ideal.

beach

beach Calgary is the gateway to Mull's beautiful west coast and is designated an area of " Outstanding Natural Beauty " by the Scottish Scenic Trust. Calgary is certainly an idyllic and unspoilt area for a holiday and offers much to those who enjoy beautiful scenery, wildlife and natural history. You can choose to take a gentle stroll around the bay to watch the curlews, oyster-catchers, seals and otters or venture on a longer walk around the nearby headlands, with their spectacular cliffs, crashing waves, deserted villages, standing stones or whisky caves (wher illicit whisky stills were once used!). There is a good chance of seeing deer, eagle, gannets, grouse and much plant and wildlife. the sound of gently tumbling waves and the tranquil atmosphere of Calgary will entice you back time and time again.
